Today I went rock climbing and my experience was more surreal than I could ever imagine. Not only did it provide a physical perspective, but also a metaphor for a spiritual one. So with anything, there is jargon, but today it was more than just that. Terms like anchor, backstep, belay, and run out really stuck with me And I believe for a reason.
I was a bit timid getting up on the wall since I hadn’t climbed since 7th grade, but I just reminded myself of that memory of how rewarding it was to let go and feel that gentle breeze on the glide down after putting in the work of climbing. Right then and there I remembered, it is all about my mind. The human mind is so powerful that you can literally believe in something so much that it comes into fruition.
And that’s exactly what I did. I believed and had faith that I’d make it to the top of the rock climbing wall and I did, a few times! I even tried other skill level walls and used the same mentality of ”I can do this. I am strong. I will reach the top. I am a winner. I am brave. I am courageous”.
There is so much power in positively affirmations And it’s important to speak that to yourself and over you life. It follows that notion of speaking your belief and it literally comes to you and becomes you. Let me tell you this, whatever you’re looking for is looking for you. Speak, declare & decree it and it will be so in good faith. Believe in yourself that you can do it. When I made it to the top, something in me said “you made it, now let go” and that was quite the task for me to do because I had my doubts. And those thoughts consumed me only until I said to myself, “how can I move forward if I’m stuck in the past?” And just like that, I pushed off of the wall and down I went.
I actually let go, and that memory of me climbing in 7th grade revisited was fulfilled. Letting go was the most rewarding thing then, and now I realize it applies to the present in all ways possible.
Believe in yourself as you believe in others
who knows what that can do for you😍
